Tram Sunday 2008

Canatxx, the American gas storage firm, has again submitted proposals to store gas off the River Wyre.

Last year, thanks to years of hard work by the local community and politicians, Canatxx’s previous proposals were rejected.

Local Conservatives welcomed the decision and Eric Ollerenshaw, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Lancaster and Fleetwood said:

“The choice to turn-down Canatxx’s bid shows that when the community puts a bit of elbow grease into something they feel passionately about, the right result can come about.

“However, we must ensure we all stay vigilante.  If Canatxx decides to have a go again with their plans, we need to make sure that we still all have a bit of elbow grease left to fight once again.”

Stop Canatxx Again!

That time has arrived, and in Summer 2008, Fleetwood Conservatives launched their ‘Stop Canatxx Again!” campaign at Tram Sunday.

We’ve so far collected over 1,000 signatures and we ask you to sign our petition against Canatxx.
