Tell Eric: Share Your Thoughts

eric_seawall.jpg
Eric Ollerenshaw, the Conservative Party Parliamentary Candidate for Lancaster and Fleetwood, is in the process of sending every household in the Constituency a detailed survey asking for your opinions on local and national matters.

This part of the website gives you the opportunity to fill in the surveys online - saving you time and us money. There are three surveys to chose from; one for Fleetwood residents, one for Lancaster residents and one for farmers.

You’ll find links to those surveys underneath the following letter from Eric.

If you would prefer to complete the surveys by hand, you can print them off and post them into our office.

Both the Lancaster and Fleetwood surveys are currently available. However, the Farmers survey is not due to technical difficulties. Please check back soon for that one. While you wait, why not browse our site?

Letter from Eric

Dear Resident,

I was born and brought up in Lancashire and now live in Lancaster. I went to Hyde County Grammar School and the London School of Economics before going on to a career in teaching in several comprehensive schools. It was a privilege to teach some amazing kids over the years and education is still a subject that is close to my heart.

I have been a local councillor, a governor at a number of schools including the Great Ormond Street Hospital School, a member of the London Assembly and a board member of various voluntary and community based groups.

I was recently selected to be the Conservative candidate for our new parliamentary constituency of Lancaster & Fleetwood. This was through a primary system open to all local people - not just party members. Listening should be an important part of any politician’s job. Therefore, since my selection, I have worked hard to meet as many of you as possible in person and I will continue to do so.

However, with over 100,000 residents in Lancaster and Fleetwood, meeting all of you may prove difficult! That is why I am enclosing a survey asking for your views on a number of local and national issues to help me represent you and your family to the best of my ability.

Thank you for taking time out to complete this survey and I look forward to receiving your views. In the meantime, I will continue to knock on doors and look forward to hopefully meeting you in person.
